Honeyroastedmelnut Posted September 8, 2010 #51 Share Posted September 8, 2010 I'm loving this review and all the details! Great job! I'm getting married on the Legend in May 2011 so am trying to read everything I can about the ship and such. Thank you! Crislen, are you getting excited yet? This time in exactly 8 months we will be out to sea!
AryMay Posted September 8, 2010 #52 Share Posted September 8, 2010 Bianca and Armando are also laughing. Wasn't Bianca the name of the girlfriend in the "Cruise Confidential" book? Just wondering if by chance she is still working for Carnival and this might be her? I'm enjoying your review. We were on the Legend the week of August 15th and had a great time. I have intentions of writing a review and posting some photos...we'll see. :)

ConchFritter0917 Posted September 8, 2010 #55 Share Posted September 8, 2010 I love reading your review. My boyfriend and I were on the Legend last September for my bday. My parents loved our pics and stories so much we decided to sail the Legend again in October. Your review is getting me so anxious for our trip! Thanks so much for taking the time to write this detailed reviewed. I am thoroughly enjoying it, I feel like I was right there with you :)
catzcrazy Posted September 9, 2010 #56 Share Posted September 9, 2010 I'm sorry but I am not sure what the Cameo Factory is  Sorry - I have been reading a lot of reviews and thought you had mentioned it, but maybe not - it is in Roatan. The artisans there carve cameos out of shells and they look great on line.
catzcrazy Posted September 9, 2010 #57 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Could you please tell us more about he Cameo Factory. I make jewelry and am interested in all the details I can get on it. __________________ Catzcrazy....We went to the cameo factory on our last cruise to Roatan. Small little building with a couple of carvers. The cameos were nice - very expensive. I paid $300 for a broach which the lady told me was 14K gold. Was 14K gold overlay which I found out when I got home  Good thing it's a broach/pin, because I can only wear 14K gold (I am alergic to all other metals). I can wear it as a pin on my clothes. I have heard that the Italian cameos are much better. I have also heard that they now have a small building right at Mahogany Bay besides the one inland. Thank you so much for the info. I make my own jewelry and hope to get one or two without settings that I can build necklaces around so I would not fall into buying something that is not gold. Sorry it happened to you. Eeyoregon Posted September 9, 2010 #58 Share Posted September 9, 2010 I am LOVING your review!!! I am sailing with Carnival for the 1st time in 45 days, on the Legend to celebrate my 40th birthday with 5 dear friends. I have learned soooo much from your review and am even considering the sting rays now! Not sure about snorkeling...have tried it before and always have a panic attack as soon as my face hits the water, sigh. Is the Sushi free or is that an additional charge venue? Looking forward to reading more!! Gina
crislen Posted September 9, 2010 #59 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Crislen, are you getting excited yet? This time in exactly 8 months we will be out to sea! I'm super excited ... almost more for the cruise than the wedding! lol. :o:eek::D This review has been fantastic, I love the detail it is giving... it makes you feel that you are right there with her! Ren1216 Posted September 9, 2010 #60 Share Posted September 9, 2010 More great info! Thanks for sharing your bargaining tactics in Coz. I don't do a whole lot of shopping while cruising, more of a site-seer, but that was very interesting and informative to me. Strange that the first ring and fake LV bag guys took the angry route, I had a car salesman try that on me once... who would buy from that kind of seller? I didn't either. Still waiting to hear about how you were able to stay in touch with home via the internet, for free.... don't forget that part :)

anthsmom Posted September 9, 2010 Author #64 Share Posted September 9, 2010 Loving your review and all of the detail! Glad your table mates warmed up, I think it is fun to sit with other people at dinner on a cruise. For the casino credits for the classic cocktails, are they for any table games? I am mostly a slot player but did play 3 card poker on my last cruise and I wonder if I can use them there? If not I think I may give roulette a try! I was glad too...but in actuality they were always nice we just had to get to know each other better. I had spoken with the Maitre d Ken about how they pick tables mates and he informed us that they look at ages, size of guests (ie: couples with couples, families with families if there is room at the table). We exchanged contact information with MR. & MRS. Florida. Will definitely be keeping in touch with them. :) The $5 credit can be used at all table games just not the slots. So I think that the 3 card poker table will be calling out your name on your next cruise! :p

She has one more year then she is retiring. Apparently there is a bonus then and for missing out on family birthdays and Christmas' for the last nine years she is looking forward to it. Also, later in my review (if I can ever get it finished haha) I will write about the crew party we saw  It's coming up on Day 6 Friday in Belize.
