jammin Posted February 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2005 We are flying into Fort Lauderdale and need transportation to South beach for a hotel stay before a cruise. Would you recommend hailing a taxi at the airport or making a reservation with a car service like tri county express. Are taxi fares metered or are they a set price? Thanks for your help. Geema Posted February 15, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2005 Our friends just used TriCounty Express and the only complaint was that they had to wait an hour each way for them to pick them up. They had a car reserved and it wasn't in Ft. Lauderdale when their plane arrived and it wasn't at the port in Miami when they were going back to Ft. Lauderdale. They said they'd use a cab the next time. Service was very good when they did come, but the hour wait was a deal killer for the next time. Not sure what the cab fare would be to and from Miami. DINKS-Dual Income Nautical Posted February 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2005 Our Tri-County driver took us to the wrong pier, dispatch really messed things up. They also sent an old town car which was too small to accomodate 4 people, a driver and luggage. We had stuff crammed on our laps and between our feet as he raced to Miami after realizing we were not going to the Ft. Lauderdale pier while talking to his family on his phone about a cook out they were having that afternoon. Not a good experience.
