Tamara Posted September 7, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2010 I am hoping the rep my TA is dealing with is wrong when she said Costa has stopped TOGA night. Will anyone who has cruised lately confirm or hopefully deny this for me. Thanks.
kasi1979 Posted September 8, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2010 TOGA night is only offered in the Carribbean, there is no such thing when sailing anywhere else. So we won´t know until Atlantica comes to Florida.
soldham Posted September 8, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 8, 2010 It certainly should be if it is not.

Winters in NZ Posted September 9, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2010 We were aboard the Atlantica in April during the 2 week cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Quebec City. We were at the early sitting for dinner and there was very little participation in this event by my observation. There may have been more involvement at late sitting. Rare Tapi Posted September 9, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 9, 2010 When Toga Night REALLY meant TOGA NIGHT! Carla Costa - 1991 (pic attached)
tbogie Posted September 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2010 It certainly should be if it is not. We absolutely loved Toga night. Our table included our new cruise critic friends. We had a great time. Except our 11 yr old son, he wanted nothing to do with the toga.
BigJohn1968 Posted September 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 13, 2010 We loved toga night. I hope they have it again this year. Sailing Atlantica Thanksgiving again
40yearcruiser Posted November 15, 2010 #9 Share Posted November 15, 2010 Any new input on this? We will be on the Atlantica in the Caribbean, March 2011, and hope they will still have toga night. We were on the Magica in the Caribbean five years ago and had a ball getting dressed up in the togas. Most of the people on the ship participated. Tamara Posted November 15, 2010 Author #10 Share Posted November 15, 2010 I am waiting for Big John to get back to us on this topic, after his Thanksgiving cruise. Our family had alot of fun with this on our last Costa cruise, I was looking forward to it.
Acklander Posted November 15, 2010 #11 Share Posted November 15, 2010 Just got back on the Atlantica yesterday, and there was a Toga night. I'd say about half the dining room participated (early seating)
Tamara Posted November 16, 2010 Author #12 Share Posted November 16, 2010 Great!! But, just another example of how inaccurate information is passed on from what should be reliable sources.
40yearcruiser Posted February 18, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 18, 2011 There seems to be conflicting information on whether there is still a toga night on the Atlantica in the Caribbean. NancyJewel92 reported that it is gone, but others have said it is not. Anybody else on the Atlantica this year that can let us know if toga night is or is not part of the theme nights? We don't know whether to pack our togas!
EJKorvette Posted February 18, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 18, 2011 We sailed on the Atlantica last month on a Western Caribbean cruise. Toga Night was on the second-to-last night. They handed out sheets the night before. I would say a quarter of the passengers participated from what we saw at the second seating. Some repeaters had brought their own togas. We didn't stay up for the Passenger Talent Show where you could send the performers to the lions if you didn't like them.
NancyJewel92 Posted February 19, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 19, 2011 During the week of our cruise there were a couple of postings in the Today for passenger talent show volunteers. But on the last night, there was a crew show, no passenger talent. We figure that not enough passengers volunteered to comprise a show. The crew members were from various departments and were talented. Wish I asked some of the crew about Toga night. Perhaps it was just eliminated for our week? Even though we were part of a large Irish group, on prior trips tons of folks got involved - many bringing their own togas; some making them a combination of Roman/Irish. :p
