kfinfam Posted September 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2010 I've been reading that when you buy "Classic" drinks onboard you'll get a chip worth $5 in the casino for certain games. Do you have to spend $5 of your own first, then the they'll match it? Or can you really just play the $5 they give you? We're not much for gambling, but would definitely take advantage of it if it werent any out of pocket for us, and help offset our bar tab :)
TheCaveman Posted September 10, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2010 I have no idea, but, also wanted to know, if you buy 5 drinks that qualify, do u get 5 matchplays ? I know how matchplay work in Vegas, You put your $5 down, with the $5 matchplay, ($10) on Roulett, say on black, if black wins, you get $20 back.... kfinfam Posted September 10, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted September 10, 2010 Another thread was started minutes before mine and I didnt see it.....so thank you to "shortstop" for this answer: It's only on what they call "classic" drinks which are listed on the bar brochures throughout the ship. Buy one of these drinks- take the receipt to the casino cashier and you receive a match play card. Then when you bet $5 at roulette or black jack- you play one of these cards and "double your bet". Some have said it's only for the bar in the casino- but I purchased "classic drinks" all over the ship and they took all the receipts.

salty dingo Posted September 11, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2010 Here's the deal. You get a "match play: chip that is worth $5 but looks different than the real $5 chip. The catch? You cannot cash it in. You must play it until you lose it. So why is it good? Because if lady luck is your partner, you can win several $5 bets (which is cash money you keep) before you lose that little red match play chip! kjunea Posted September 11, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 11, 2010 So why is it good? Because if lady luck is your partner, you can win several $5 bets (which is cash money you keep) before you lose that little red match play chip! So if you keep winning, you get to keep the chip? That's good, because in Vegas, when you play it, win or lose, you lose the match play coupon or chip.
