xxoocruiser Posted September 11, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2010 My husband has his own scooter & power chair. Thought I might check into renting one for next cruise. I know about care vacations, any others???TIA You need to contact the Special Needs Department of the Cruiseline to find out the name of their approved Scooter Rental Company. If you are planning to have the scooter delivered directly to the Cruise line the company needs to have all the necessary preapprovals. Not all rental companies can deliver to the ship. IRL_Joanie Posted September 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 12, 2010 Didn't see any info about rentals there. Maybe I missed it? Candy Candy, I gave the direct link to the Info in my post. On the main Cruise Critic Disabled Cruise Travel Thread the sticky is at the top under the words Threads/Thread Starter. Here is the direct link to the Sticky Holland America Line Handicapped Info : http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1260062 Sorry, but I tend to try and make it easier and more direct for folks to find the info instead of digging for it. I apologize for the confusion. The Rentals info is listed about 2/3 of the way down the page on my site and is listed under: Medical Supplies, such as Oxygen, Concentrators, Wheelchairs (manual & power) and Scooters Specialists in providing Medical Supplies, such as Oxygen, Concentrators, Wheelchairs (manual & power) and Scooters on board your cruise ship (at a decent price) CareVacations/CruiseShipAssist phone: 877-478-7827 Fax: 780-986-8332 Email: csa@carevacations.com Web site: http://www.cruiseshipassist.com Special Needs at Sea Phone: 800-513-4515 Fax: 800-513-4516 E-mail: info@specialneedsgroup.com Web site: http://www.specialneedsatsea.com Joanie

You should contact the Disney Cruise Special Needs Dept for the name of their approved mobility scooter rental company. Best to work through the approved supplier to ensure that the scooter gets properly delivered to your cabin. It's most likely CareVacations http://www.carevacations.com/cruiseshipassist/mobility-equipment/ or Special Needs at Seas http://www.specialneedsatsea.com/ BTW CareVacations rents the Pride Go Go Elite Traveler if you want something similar to what you already use at home. Se4deb Posted June 2, 2011 #10 Share Posted June 2, 2011 Just to add my DH's 2 cents. He loves CareVacations equipment and service. Newer nicely powered equipment delivered to your stateroom, fully charged and ready to go.
