jdr93 Posted February 15, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2005 We're on the Constellation Feb 26th, out of San Juan. We just spoke with Celebrity regarding the Oscars Broadcast and were told it will not be available anywhere on the ship. Apparently ABC is not one of the satellite networks available. Has anyone sailed on a Celebrity ship in years past and been able to watch the Oscars. I see that Princess actually makes a party night of it on at leaast some of their ships. Is there any way to convince Celebrity it would be a good guest relations move to show the Broadcast somewhere onboard? Hey, we were able to watch the Westminster Dog Show on a Costa Cruise. j
kitty9 Posted February 15, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2005 Cruise lines do not receive broadcast network shows(CBS, NBC and the rest) and to get a special feed for something like that costs the cruise line big bucks. The only reason they can get football and basketball games is because those games are on ESPN, and they already pay for that network. Tivo the Oscars and watch when you get home.
