Port Canaveral activities

Has anyone done both Cocoa Beach and the Space Center in one day? Is there enough time if traveling on the Dawn?

Not sure what you had in mind doing in Cocoa Beach, but the Kennedy Space Center itself can take all day.

I just thought a few hours looking at space stuff would be enough then I could hit the beach. I suppose the beach can wait till I get to Miami. So what is there to do at the space center. I have never been.

KSC is quite fascinating, but it's extremely popular and the lines are long. The tours are lenghty as well. You can easily spend all day there between the tours that take you into the complex and the exhibits and shows at the visitor center. If it were me I would wait for the beach until you get to Miami and then go to South Beach.

There were rumours that the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame would be closing. If not, it is definitely worth your time. Our son enjoyed it more than KSC.

Whats the difference between Port Canaveral and KSC?

KSC is the Kennedy Space Center

Port Canaveral is just the name of the port the ships dock at and Cape Canaveral is the same area. KSC is located in Cape Canaveral.

Ok, I got it now. I htought it was different places related to NASA. I knew cruise ships left from that area. Thanks.

when we sailed on the DAWN the shuttle launched on our da at PC and everyone on Cocoa Beach had a great view.
