I'm not exactly sure what you are referencing but all interactions with the characters on the ship are free.

 

You can visit as many characters as you like, have pictures taken with them or get autographs from them.

 

All included in your cruise.

I just arranged one for my sister to get one from Mickey. She is over 50 and she loved it!! It was free.

The option should appear on the "planning" page after you login to Disney's website.

I had wondered the same thing. I seen the character call option when I log on to my reservation on their website; but when I clicked on it,it made it seem like there was a charge..... So, I just canceled.

I scheduled Mickey to call my 3 year old daughter the night before we leave on our flight. you can schedule who you want to call and the exact time. I can't wait to see her face. There is no charge, I e-mailed the Disney Cruise sight and they confirmed that it is free.
