grhoney Posted September 18, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2010 So I am booked to sail from vancouver down the west coast.... mexican rivera and finally off in san diego. I saw the 1 day from seattle to vancouver. So I figured why not book that also???? Well when I called I was told no no... it violates the jones act, whatever that is. Even if I book it seperately it still a no no. Oh well... Guess I will have to just be happy with the 12 day already booked.

I had to cancel the one day because it was in violation of the PSA. Be glad that they did not go ahead and book you. I know how you feel! It is an outdated law. It's because you're taking a continuous voyage that is now going from Seattle to San Diego (2 diff US ports) and you are not touching "a distant foreign port" (which really translates to a different continent for the most part) inbetween.
