wesail4fun Posted September 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2010 Going to decorate our door with some cutouts, sign we made that I have had laminated. Would it be better to use double-sided tape, or fun-tak mounting putty on the cabin doors on the Dream? Thanks for your input.

I thought I had read on here a few months back that the double-sided tape didn't work on the Dream; but not sure if I imagined it.
forwardcabin Posted September 19, 2010 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2010 Just use masking tape or buy your favorite color duct tape. It's only temporary anyway. The staff was having to work very hard to remove putty left on alot of doors in our hallway from a large group on the previous cruise. Our signs stayed up with some duct tape for the duration of the cruise and came down very easily at the end of the cruise with no trace left... Here's hoping you have a great cruise. Bon Voyage! Bunkie103 Posted September 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2010 I couldn't get mine to stay up with double sided tape. That's the first time I had a problem. Finally just wedged them in over the "mailbox thing" on the side.
Alliezona09 Posted September 19, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2010 I use the putty and have never had a problem getting it off my door~ I might have to scrape it a bit but always get it removed without leaving any residue~!
aprilivy Posted September 19, 2010 #6 Share Posted September 19, 2010 That was one thing we enjoyed about the Voyager (our first and last RCCL cruise) - metal doors. Magnets worked great!
tkere Posted September 19, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 19, 2010 Oh I am glad I saw this. I bought the stick on circles from Bed, Bath and beyond but will bring duct tape too!

KimberlyC Posted September 20, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 20, 2010 I've used Magnets on prior cruises (never sailed Carnival but probably booking Legend for DS's mid-winter break which is why I'm researching now). Anyway, are the doors on the Legend and/or Dream not steel/aluminum thereby precluding magnetic signs?
near the beach Posted September 20, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 20, 2010 Be careful to put anything on your door that you may want to keep. We have had things taken and torn. We just use paper now and bring extras.
