mikemcf31 Posted June 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hi.. we are cruising this Friday. First time ever on a boat and I am looking forward to it. I got a lot of good info here.. thanks .. I had a question about how much luggage you can bring (I am sure it's been talked about, they need a search button here). My wife is a notorious overpacker, we just got back from a 5 day trip to Las Vegas and she brought 7 bathing suits with her, for instance. Any info is appreciated as well as how to best smuggle onboard a travel iron... thanks
Alexis Posted June 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2004 Hi, If you are flying, the airlines allow two bags each at 50 lbs. each. If you are driving, each passenger is allowed something like 200 lbs. (Even I can't pack that much) As for the iron, I use a steamer so I won't give you any tips on that one. m&m1 Posted June 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2004 I too use a travel steamer iron - $20 at Wally World. However on our last cruise we did not take it and had to get my dh's shirt pressed. I think it cost us $2 to get it pressed and it came back beautiful! Also it was done on like 2.5 hour's notice - cabin stewards are wonderful! My dd overpacked like crazy - 7 day cruise and she took 30 shirts, 13 pairs of shoes, etc... and she had no trouble getting all her luggage on board. By the way, I think she only didn't wear 3 things she took. She may not have kept things on for long, but she did wear them! LOL Cruise addict in the making MOS June 6, 2004
