susanf31 Posted February 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2005 I'm sailing on the 2/19 NCL Sea. I've heard that there are no safes in the cabins. Is that true? Ladies, what do you do with you wallets/purses when you are at the pool or on an excursion? It seems like a hassel to have to go to the front desk to utilize a safe everytime you want to put your wallet/money away.

sbcs5390 Posted February 17, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 17, 2005 They have safes... I think I remember us being all sad because we called NCL and they said there were no safes, but when we got there the safes were there. Or maybe I'm confusing a different cruise. -Brian
bluehorizonlover123 Posted February 17, 2005 #7 Share Posted February 17, 2005 go to magellans.com and look up water caddy. it comes in 2 different sizes. i swim with my watch and cash. but I would be to scared to swim with my regular camera. sometimes it leaks but not too often. now I double up the bags. they are space age bags. ArkansasFish Posted February 17, 2005 #8 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Our cabin did not have a safe. This was a MAJOR pain. There was lock boxes available to use but you had to make sure and go during the correct hours they were open. If I had to go again on this ship, I would take some kind of locking device that could be locked down somewhere in the room. Maybe like a bike-chain lock or something. cyelee Posted February 17, 2005 #9 Share Posted February 17, 2005 Do you think that it would be safe to lock valuables in your suitcase?
fin Posted February 18, 2005 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2005 My cabin on #4 deck on the Sea last October 04 had no safe. There were boxes available just behind the info desk, but only at certain hours. However, as only the room stewards would normally have access to the cabin, I would have felt comfortable leaving almost anything locked in a suitcase, with the exception of my passport and some other documents, which I preferred to leave in the safe. houtexme Posted February 18, 2005 #11 Share Posted February 18, 2005 There was a safe in our CC cabin on the Sea in September, 04. I think it depends on the cabin you book.
