Plankton1 Posted September 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2010 I have purchased tickets for the 11-day Christmas cruise and am looking forward to it. I noticed a couple of the port excursions included Scuba. I'd love to go diving but was wondering about your experiences. I'd hate to sign up for a trip only to find it's third-rate or I should have booked the trip on my own with a private operator. This HAS been my experience with some other cruise lines and would love your input. Thanks.
boomhaursgrl Posted September 28, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2010 I've dove with Disney sponsored excursions on all 3 cruising. I have never had a problem with any of the dives. Which ports will you see? Cayman was def worth the money for the dive, so was St. Thomas/ St. John.
Plankton1 Posted October 6, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 6, 2010 It's the 11-day cruise. YES, I am going to St.John/St. Thomas, but here are the other ports of call (not all of which have scuba): St. Maarten, Guadaloupe, Barbados, Martinique and Castaway Cay. Thanks. magic1 Posted October 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2010 I have been on several Disney Cruises and have gone diving on most. My experiences have been good but a drift dive is a drift dive. A friend of mine booked us on a shark dive the last time we went to St. Thomas and it was a blast so you may want to check out some shops first before you decide. Some can be cheaper then going through the DCL but for convenience going through DCL is a lot easier and they are more reliable. Last thing you want to do is be all geared up and standing on the dock waiting for a diver operator that isn't going to show up.
