And this is important why? The ship sank, loads of people died and the statue of limitations is way past not to mention everyone is now passed on so no law suits nothing but someone marketing a new book. Will the next one be about how the Germans in anticipation of WWI pushed the ice berg in front of the ship to cause the crash and the loss of life. At least we know George Bush is not responsible for this one.

Common knowledge or common belief?

 

Is there any agreement that the rivets were substandard? And substandard against which age? 1912 or 2010?

Wow with faulty rivets, brittle steel, confused quartermaster, it is amazing the Titanic made it out of Southampton Harbour, let alone half way across the Atlantic. Never mind the sister ship S.S. Olympic was built right next to Titanic out of the same steel and rivets, most likely by many of the same hands some how managed to sail until the mid 1930s.

 

So many what ifs and if onlys with the big T ship...

 

But all the people trying to cash in with new theories gets tedious.

 

I do agree with guernseyguy that the real scandal was that the boats left w/o being full. However the issue was very much looked at and that is why we all must attend a boat drill everytime we do a crossing or a cruise.
