kiraryker Posted September 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2010 We have 5 that want to do the royal swim - our cruise is in January - how soon would you book? Thanks
MamaParrotHead Posted September 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2010 I'd book now. There's no downside to booking early, whereas if you wait too long there is a very good chance you'll get shut out. We booked probably 4-5 months in advance. kiraryker Posted September 22, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted September 22, 2010 Do you know how much it would be to take a taxi for 5 to get there & back?
MamaParrotHead Posted September 22, 2010 #4 Share Posted September 22, 2010 It's pretty inexpensive. We had a group of 10 and it was like $40.
wantocruisemore Posted September 22, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 22, 2010 I'd book as soon as I reserved the cruise. We're going in Nov. and I just made reservations last week. If I had made them in June when I first contacted them I could have gotten a free photo too. I had thought the prices would go down for fall but have not seem them do this. On the other hand, if your ship is the only one in port that day you could wait some. Unfortunately our ship is one of 5 so I knew advance reservations were a must, especially since the times were important doing 3 activities. kiraryker Posted September 22, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted September 22, 2010 I wonder if I have them pay for our transportation it comes out to $50 or should I just pay ourselves when we get a taxi?
wantocruisemore Posted September 23, 2010 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2010 Everyone that's done the taxi on there own over to Chankanaab says it's really easy, reasonable and fast. We're just doing the taxi on our own after we get in port.

We're just doing the taxi on our own after we get in port. There are MILEs of taxis lined up where the ship docks.
Mewissy Posted September 23, 2010 #9 Share Posted September 23, 2010 How far away is Dolphin Discovery from the International Pier? I've heard different things...
MichelleChell Posted September 23, 2010 #10 Share Posted September 23, 2010 I would book now. People are booking for Nov and it is sold out. So you never know.
Pickles61 Posted September 23, 2010 #11 Share Posted September 23, 2010 I just booked for Nov 4 and if you book for a swim before 1:00 is was 15% and from 1:00 on it was 20% off. They have other sales going on now as well. I'd checkout the prices, the sale is good thru the end of this month
Jt4428 Posted September 24, 2010 #12 Share Posted September 24, 2010 I also booked today for Nov 4th. Got 20% off for the 4 of us for the Royal swim with dolphins. But I had to take a 1:00 timeslot. It''s okay since we're docked in Cozumel until 8 pm that day. They also threw in a 10 manatee encounter.
leggett225 Posted October 3, 2010 #13 Share Posted October 3, 2010 You should book now to get the best deal. Check their web sites and give them a call for their deals right now. I booked the 29th of Sept. and got 2 Royal Dolphin Swims. They added in a 10-15 min. manatee encounter for free and then they gave me 25% off the total. Also, to get a good time that suits well with your time frame in Cozumel you should go ahead and check out what's available. Hope this helps! My time slot is 12:00. raringtogo Posted October 3, 2010 #14 Share Posted October 3, 2010 hi from australia although we have a long long time until our cruise hits cozumel- we will have quite a large group can someone please give me the website to check out this dolphin swim- and, can anyone please give me details of a van-service so that we can all travel together- there will be at least 15 of us, or maybe even 18 thanks in advance marilyn
Jt4428 Posted October 5, 2010 #15 Share Posted October 5, 2010 Raringtogo... Website is dolphindiscovery I don't know if they do groups that large. When I called, they said around 10 in a group. When they keep it smaller, you get more time with the dolphins.
