GC is expensive so we were looking for a fun bar to hang out at while in port. Any suggestions?

How is Grand Cayman expensive? US dollar is worth 1.25 in GC last I checked. BUT nothing in ANY port will be cheap compared to somewhere off the beaten path

The cash exchange rate for the Cayman Islands is fixed at $1 CI= $1.25 USD or conversely, $1 US = $.80 CI. So the CI $ is "worth" more than a US $.

 

Most prices will be stated in CI$, so you'll need to add 25% to convert to USD. Your final bills will be converted to USD for you.

Also note, The Cayman Islands imposes a rather high import duty on alcohol. Prices of mixed drinks, wine, or beer thus tend to be rather high.

 

You should expect beer bottles to run US$4 to $5 each. Mixed drinks can be some serious cash!

We visited Breezes and in our way of putting things it had serious "hang-out" potential! If you go there be sure to order something off the beaten path from the menu. I forget what Karen ordered but I had the goat!
