PhillipsClan Posted September 30, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2010 As title we are on the Thomson Spirit in April 2011 was wondering how soon we can reserve a cabin as on our last 2 Thomson cruises we never bothered. We have booked a Delux on either deck 6 - 7 for my wife, myself and our son any recommendations. Thanks in advance :)
smiffy1951 Posted October 1, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Hi PhillipsClan You can book your cabin as soon as you book the cruise. We booked our Caribbean cruise for March 2011 as soon as the brochure for 2011 came out early this year and booked the cabin straight away. PhillipsClan Posted October 1, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks smiffy How did you do it so early, my wife tried via Internet last night it said that because over 6 months away unable to book? That's not right then?
kruzseeka Posted October 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks smiffy How did you do it so early, my wife tried via Internet last night it said that because over 6 months away unable to book? That's not right then? In the brochure and probably in the documentation you have received there is a phone number so you can ring directly for cabin reservations - unfortunately it's a 0845 number (I think) so you can get the dreaded 'all our operatives are busy' and hanging on for ages scenario. We booked a trip for next June way back in April and booked our cabin at that time so it is possible to book earlier than 6 months ahead - but perhaps not on the Internet (which I didn't realise was an option.) If you have booked through a T.A. you could ask them to book for you.
davecttr Posted October 1, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2010 I booked a Thomsons cruise through a TA last year and when I rang the cabin booking number they said it only applied to people booking online  I would have to go back to the TA to book the cabin for me. So now I book the cabin at the TA Same cabin 3 times for Celebration so I know exactly where the rattles are and how to fix em! rattling door - 50p chip from the casino door return thingy - any bit of paper wardrobe - paper wedge safe door - £1 coin ceiling panels - must take a screwdriver next time :D
sodafountain Posted October 1, 2010 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Thanks smiffy How did you do it so early, my wife tried via Internet last night it said that because over 6 months away unable to book? That's not right then? What web site did you use, all i can find on Thomson is a phone number, would like to see if i can book cabin online, cruise in February, so that is this side of 6 months. mrsh2006 Posted October 1, 2010 #7 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Hi, we have booked the Spirit for October 2011 and have pre booked our cabins, deck 6 cabins 220 and 222. I did this by telephone even though i had booked online. Just give them a call they are very helpful. Mrs H
kercruiser Posted October 1, 2010 #8 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Don't think you can book cabin on-line... we booked cruise on-line & were advised to telephone to reserve cabin.
sodafountain Posted October 1, 2010 #9 Share Posted October 1, 2010 Thats why i would be interested to know what website PhillipsClan was using, as they do state the website said they couldn't book as it was over 6 months. I know i can phone, problem there is you have a list of cabins you like, and of course they are generally gone, and then they list others back, and you go through the book, and minutes are ticking away on the phone bill, you almost feel you have to rush your decision. Be much easier if there was a website, maybe they have booked elsewhere that allows it?

uttoxyboy Posted October 2, 2010 #13 Share Posted October 2, 2010 Hi we were on Spirit in August, had cabins 221 and 223 on deck 6, both excellent and in good location. In 221 we had the rollaway bed for our daughter and space was still good.:)

Cheers It's on the Thomson site under 'Extras' although the reference to 'being too early to book' is relevant to plane seat bookings - I think they only offer this service 6 -8 weeks before departure. You have to 'log in' with your booking reference and the lead passenger's name. It's surname only though - I spent ages trying to get in and put my initial in as well and it kept telling me it didn't recognise my booking! I was really panicking - I thought there was a admin error and I knew the flight was already fully booked!! Anyway - once I realised what I was doing wrong - it was all very easy.
