Need A Little Help re. Customer Service & Complaints

But since the thread *has* been resurrected: has anyone experienced luggage damage when using the White Star luggage service, either for delivery to the vessel or for forwarding home? Is that a reliable means of limiting handling damage as well as providing a convenient service?

I used WSL to get a suitcase to Hong Kong and was pleasantly surprised to find that it arrived in the room before I did. And I didn't even embark on that day, I just switched rooms. There was nothing damaged.

We have used White Star Luggage twice, both times from the US to Soton. The carrier provided a tracking number, so we could see where the bag was at any time. The first time, it seemed to be in Customs at Soton for several days, which made me nervous--I had packed according to the rules, but you never know what's going to upset a government inspector. I called the White Star customer service people and they said that cases often stay in Customs for several days. If they're way ahead of schedule (and ours were), they're "saved" for a slow time and processed then. Sure enough, it was in our cabin when we arrived. The second time, it arrived an hour after we boarded.

I wouldn't be afraid to use White Star again.
