Cayman excursions

DH and I are taking NCL in Nov to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Looking for advice on what excursions to take. Seeing alot of mixed reviews. We definitely want to snorkel either at both or 1 of the ports. Dont mind history so if there is something along that line. Also, some shopping would be nice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!!:p

Both have excellent snorkeling opportunities. Snorkeling's good from shore at GC, but Hurricane Wilma destroyed Coz's near shore reefs. The maine life has returned, but the coral requires years to recover. Fortunately, the off shore reefs were left nearly untouched so a boat snorkel there is still excellent.

At GC, try Capt Marvin. He's recently gone more commercial, but still as good, or better, than the others.

If you want to save a few $, You'll find good snorkeling a short walk from the tender docks at Eden Rock. Entry is from a platform directly into iron shore.

There's a number of good operators at Coz, but I always go with Eagle Ray. When/if you book, be sure to to book the three reef. The shorter trips go to the near shore reefs, which is much like beach snorkeling from Dzul HA.

If Eagle Ray is booked up for your date, Manta Ray receives good reviews.

We did Grand Cayman and Cozumel on our first cruise about 10 years ago and really enjoyed both locations-especially Cayman. We don't snorkel but in Grand Cayman we did a tour that included a bit of everything. We started off by "swimming " with the stingray. They took us out to a sandbar in the middle of the ocean and we got to feed, pet the stingray. Then we boarded a bus for a brief island tour including a stop in Hell (overrated but a bit historical), and we finished the day by walking the shopping district. Shopping was a good mixture of high end and touristy shops. In Cozumel we just walked the flea markets back behind the touristy shops and stopped at "Bob's" Cantina for a dollar Corona and nachos. We enjoyed both locations!
