sherrys Posted February 18, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 18, 2005 Does anyone know if there's a place near the Tampa pier where you can buy soda, water and perhaps a bottle of wine? We are arriving early on Sundday to board the Carnival Miracle and it would be nice to pick up some supplies if there's a place within reasonable walking distance. tadjr Posted February 19, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2005 There arent really any stores of that nature near the pier or within walking distance. Are you catching a cab or the cruise bus? If a cab, just stop at a grocery on the way. It shouldnt be too much if you just run in and grab some things. There is a Kash N Karry or Walmart (no booze there) on N Dale Mabry Hwy which is easily within cab ride between the airport and pier. Walmart is supposedly interested in buying land for a Superstore near the port area, but are getting opposition and its still quite a few years out at best. mattmdv Posted February 21, 2005 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2005 See if you can get ahold of babyjen, I am pretty sure she lives in the Tampa area, perhaps she can give you some ideas. When is your cruise? Matt
tarheelmjfan Posted February 21, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 21, 2005 Give these sites a look, for area info. www.tecolinestreetcar.org/ www.centroybor.com www.channelsidetampa.com Being local to the area, I haven't done much looking around for grocery items. Channelside, where the ships dock, has a wine shop. From that area, you can hop on the street car & get off at any of these locations. You should be able to find sodas & bottled water somewhere along the line. In any case, Centro Ybor is definitely worth arriving early to take a look around. Sorry, I couldn't provide more specific help. :(
