Is a beach cabana worth the money?

Did you ever find out about those two cabanas?

On the map # 11 (light purple)

and # 15 (mauve)

which HAL site listing would match? There is "taupe" and "violet"

I'm thinking neither is really 'taupe'...but if you had to venture a guess?

I'm trying to figure out what colour HAL would call cabana # 11

#15 is Violet - that's "my" cabana so if you book it, treat her well! :p

In my previous post (#43), I indicated that the violet cabana is #15 - the last one.

If you call HAL to reserve a cabana, they can tell you where it's located on the beach.

Many prefer to rent cabanas that are close to the food pavilion and restrooms, but we prefer to be a bit more secluded.

Thanks so much! That would make #11 the taupe one....on the map its listed as light purple so I was a bit confused!

(Isn't taupe a tan color??)

Taupe is actually cabana #1, closest to the tender landing. I've booked it in the past.

It's the one called "grey" in this link:

We really enjoy the cabana, and split the cost with the couple we travel with so that helps re the cost. He is not a beach/water kind of guy, so he can relax on one of the loungers and read his book while the 3 of us enjoy the water.

Based on the new pirate ship bar on HMC and the noise of the band there, I would recommend booking cabana #9 or higher if possible. We had #6 purple last week and our enjoyment was severely compromised due to the god awful racket from the Hal Cats.

As for the butler, it's a $270 upgrade above and beyond the $300 for the cabana. Doesn't make sense for us as we aren't big drinkers, but to each their own.
