sinesbride Posted October 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2010 I just wanted to say Thank you for everyone on here who gives advice and reviews. My fiance and I have been considering a cruise for our wedding, however, we decided that we may just do a small local ceremony and then take a cruise out of Galveston...we would probably bring our son...who will be 2 1/2 by the time we actually cruise. You guys are a blessing. I'm researching and reading and every cruise sounds so wonderful..it's hard to pick. We were going to do the wedding on the Triumph next fall or January 2012 on a 5 day, but realized...we have been been to mexico numerous times and we wanted to see something different and are now considering the 7 day Magic, I think it is...the new ship? It's more expensive and we figure most of our friends wouldn't afford it anyway, hence the local small ceremony. Ugh...decisions decisions. LOL We are sticking the with 7 day but whether to have the wedding on it or not is still up in the air. I guess we were hoping for summer 2012 dates to be up...BUT HONESTLY...I don't think we want to wait 2 years. LOL BUT AGAIN>>>THANKS TO ALL OF YOU. Rosebud5t Posted October 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2010 Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I believe that you can still do a wedding onboard, with all of your family and friends, before the ship sails and then anyone not sailing gets off-board before the ship sails. There was a wedding on the Fascination last week before we sailed and I heard announcements for the disembarking of the wedding "visitors" before we sailed. I've learned a ton on this site, too, and really appreciate the folks here and their input. Happy Cruising!!!!
maldenmusic Posted October 15, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2010 During my last cruise out of Mobile, they were doing a wedding prior to the cruise. Then the members of the wedding party who weren't sailing, got off. And during the cruise, the newlyweds got special treatment such as being moved to the head of any lines we were standing in or got applause when they were recognized. They seemed to enjoy it all.
