Napoli4 Posted October 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2010 We'll be in Cozumel in two months. I'm getting excited and starting to make some on-our-own reservations. I was just told by an agent at the dolphin swim park that the entire Chankanaab National Park is closed on Sundays. In fact, he said the whole town is pretty much closed except for the shopping area. Is this true? thanks!

goldne Posted October 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2010 There are no cruise ships in port on sundays. However if you find yourself there on a sunday there is a wonderful sunday night fiesta that takes place every week at the town square. There is live music and it's a lot of fun! Not sure about Chankanaab, but you could look it up online.
Napoli4 Posted October 20, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted October 20, 2010 OK, so our ship DOES stop in Cozumel on Sunday Dec 19 - I'm looking at the itinerary right now. I've heard about the Sunday night fiesta and it sounds fun. I'm wondering what to do with the other 15 hours we'll be there. The tour book I have (Moon) says Chankanaab National Park is open "daily" but the dolphin guy insisted that everything is closed. The Park website also says open daily but when I try and book something, the site responds "tour not offered that day." Still looking for input on this. Thanks!
