serious sealeggs Posted February 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2005 How much do you tip your bar servers, and do you give cash or charge to sea pass? I'm curious as to whether to bring extra single dollar bills, or would an extra $5 or $10 every day or so better to keep the service flowing better. I've previously always added the tip to my seapass account, should I be offering cash?
49holding Posted February 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2005 15% is automatically added to every bar bill and it irks me that an additional space is added onto the bill for additional gratuity.A typical drink is $5 so with the auto tip it is 75 cents per drink. (Here in NY we usually leave in a NY bar $1 or so for every drink) . That said I usually give a $2 bill for a small round of drinks. They seem to appreciate that. serious sealeggs Posted February 20, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted February 20, 2005 I don't mind tipping higher if it means the service will be rewarding. I just wonder what the overall census was in whether the wait staff is more reponsive to cash over the write in extra amount.
