noyb Posted November 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 6, 2010 We just booked the 7 night Mexican Riviera Cruise departing LA on 3/5. NCL had a great offer on a GTY Category N stateroom. Has anyone ever booked this type before? What cabin were you assigned? Thank you in advance for any insight into this category cabin.
spacepotatoes Posted November 6, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 6, 2010 We've done this once, but on the Pride of America. We ended up in cabin 4503, which was an actual Cat N cabin on deck 4, forward. Basically the lowest you could possibly get with an inside guarantee :p But, we loved the cabin and the location, and it was our first cruise, it was our honeymoon, we were in Hawaii, so we were excited just to be on the ship. A Cat. N is an inside guarantee, so you are guaranteed to have some type of inside stateroom. You may get the lowest type within that category, like we did, or you may get the highest. I have heard of a few occasions where people were upgraded and got oceanview staterooms but personally, I would not count on this happening, especially since you are sailing during a busy time of year for travelling.
