On the boat they told us don't even go out of the "cruise" made village, it would be a waste of time. What we found was once we went out we found a great guide with a nice air conditioned mini van who for 60 dollars tooks six of us to the ruins and even threw in a tour of the rain forest, with really cool monkeys. It was a great day and only a fraction of what the inside the village tours tried to hit us up for. I found the only reason to stay in the village was to pay way too much than I needed too. :)
