Circle C on the Dream

I will be traveling with my daughter who is in middle school but is a month away from turning 12. How strict are they about the age limit on Circle C? She feels too old for Camp Carnival and wants to hang out with the middle school kids. I think she would have a much better time if she could meet other kids on board.

It really depends on the counselor involved and the number of kids onboard in each group. I've been lucky having my kids bumped up a few times when their ages were on the cusp, but I've known others who weren't as lucky. It's tough when the kids are at the very oldest end of an age group (say almost 12 in the 8-11 yr old group). I don't blame them for wanting to be in the group that possibly has more kids closer to their own age and interest level. That being said, I would not want my 14 year old in the 15-17 year old group until as late as possible. There is just such a huge difference between the average 14 and 17 year old. Hope this helps!

Just wondering if you were able to have your dd bumped up to the next age group... my dd will be 11 1/2 on our cruise.. and she really wants to be with the 12-14 yr olds.

My son was allowed to join the Circle C group because he was just a few days from his 12th birthday. I heard, last year, that you have a better shot if their birthday is within a week of your sailing. Turned out that he was bored and spent very little time in Circle C anyway.

Thanks for your reply :)

Sadly my daughter won't be close to her birthday.. about midway through really.. but she is more on the level of the 12 and 13 yr olds... so I am hoping they will let her.. she looks like she is 14..lol.. and she speaks like it also...
