barbydaul Posted April 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2004 My husband, my mom, and I will be sailing next March on the Galaxy 11-night Panama Canal. We are in Sky Suite #1203. Does anyone know anything about this cabin. We had an aft cabin on Brilliance(RCL) this past March and loved it. Galaxy does not have aft cabins so to get the larger balcony, we opted for the suite. Besides we will need the extra room for mom. Any info on the cabin and its amenities will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Happy Sails to You Barb GALAXY 11-NIGHT PANAMA CANAL
MSBYRDY Posted April 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2004 I personally don't think a Sky Suite is large enough for you, your husband and your mom. I'd want something with a little privacy. Just my opinion. Marilyn
emptynest1 Posted April 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2004 We were in 1207 on Galaxy last year. There is a fold out sofa that when extended blocks the door to the balcony. The balcony is huge and we enjoyed that, but it will be tight in the room with 3 adults. There is a table and 2 chairs on the balcony along with 2 lounge chairs. Closet space was fine for the 2 of us, but you will be cramped with clothing for 3 adults. We loved the cabin and I know you will too, just be aware of the closet space and fold out sofa. Bookit Posted April 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 21, 2004 The cabin size of 246 sq.ft. seems small for 3 adults to me. (of course, if one could sleep on the balcony (179 sq.ft) Bookit

Nikita35 Posted April 22, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 22, 2004 Hubby & I were in 1226 for 10 nights 12/13/02. We LOVED it & have booked another sky suite for September. The balcony is massive for a cruise ship. Given the length of the trip I was a bit challenged with the closet space for the two of us. I think it's the formal/informal dinner attire that takes up so much space. Then again we like to get a bit gussied up for dinner. From my chair, it would have been tight with 3 adults. Now, my sister and best friend and myself could have had a "girls pj party" for a week and been fine. Hubby, myself and my mom, different story. I think a lot depends on your relationship. It will be tight quarters, without privacy in a sky suite for three adults. Basically a smallish hotel room with a bit patio (and great view!). Good luck with whatever you decide. I'm sure you will have a wonderful trip! Terri
barbydaul Posted April 23, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Thanks everyone for the info. Hope to hear from Roy on his return-Thank you Roy. My husband gets along pretty well with my mom as he kinda over sees her affairs since my dad died 3 years ago. We realize it may be a little cramped and are ready to adjust. My mom has only been able to really travel since my dad died and I know she would never have gone to any of the places she has been since he died ( He would be glad for her if he were alive.) Thanks again Barb GALAXY 11-NIGHT PANAMA CANAL
