grammasan Posted November 25, 2010 #27 Share Posted November 25, 2010 Talk about the current low budget's - he recently on the Emerald one evening had a repeat comedian in the explorers lounge (for the third time) while the main attraction in the show lounge at 8 & 10 PM was a showing of an older movie - "Date Night". The cut backs on the entertainment budget are getting more disappointing as time goes on. :mad:The night they held the late night comedy show it was so crowded people were standing outside of Club Fusion just to try & hear the show no less get a seat. It's to bad they didn't hold it it the main show lounge. I was on this same cruise. One night the choice was monday night football on MUTS and movie in the main showroom. I could have stayed home & watched TV or see an old movie. All of the entertainers they had were comedians. Does the emerald ever feature anything cultural? I too was disappointed. gmcwalker Posted November 25, 2010 #28 Share Posted November 25, 2010 I meet the gentleman the first night out on the Emerald when he asked to join my brother and I at a table in the casino as my brother was smoking and he wanted to also. I then said you are the CD. He said guilty. He bought us a round and gave us old guys some tips to get around the ship. A very personal guy. Very hands on. His greatest sucess is being in charge of great people. My only complaint was he did not know that The World Series SF/TEX trumps Sunday Night football and Monday Night football on the MUTS. cruisinggirl13 Posted January 17, 2011 #29 Share Posted January 17, 2011 Recently experienced Tim Donovan on a cruise on the Emerald. Have to say I found him sort of arrogant and not very friendly. Just my experience. But, his staff was fabulous.....grateful that they were approachable, and funny. Got the feeling from Donovan that I was bothering him when I asked him a question.
