Help with Nassau and Freeport

J England

Recommended Posts

We (me, my husband, and his parents) are going to be in Nassau and Freeport Thanksgiving week. I have been searching for activities the last few weeks and think I have a plan but I have questions.

Nassau: I think we are going to the Wyndam (from what I can tell online it is $40 pp and that includes a buffet lunch) Can someone verify the price and

do I need to call and book with the hotel now or just take a taxi to the hotel and pay then?

Freeport: Our Lucaya: Help me with how to get there and what all is availble once we get there (not sure my in-laws are going to want two beach days back to back)

Also is the beach public, if so are there restrooms and places to change or will we pay for beach acess when we get there?

Thanks

Regarding Nassau, normally, you would have no problem just walking up to the front desk of either property and paying on the spot. This has been the ONLY way to get day passes. But since you are traveling during Thanksgiving week, and some hotels may restrict the number of guests, I would call before you leave and verify that they will, indeed, selling day passes when you arrive.

This goes for any and all hotels with day passes.

In Freeport, you walk off the ship, and through a small straw market to get to the taxi stand. It's 5 or 6 bucks to take a shared minivan for the 20 minute ride to Lucaya.

Shopping, food, casino and excursions there. Start with a Google search of tours for Freeport or Our Lucaya. When you see something you like, ask here. Someone has probably done any tour you can find.
