cindep Posted November 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2010 We have dear friends who will be cruising soon on the Emerald Princess. They are UK citizens and booked through Princess UK. I had wanted to send them a shipboard credit, but Princess US said I would have to call Princess UK (and I'm guessing have to pay an international transaction fee, etc.) Can I instead gift them a bottle of wine and do that directly with Princess US? I'd like to do something special for them as they are fabulous people, but don't want to spend a lot of "extra" money that will not directly benefit them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hank1468 Posted November 15, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2010 use this link: http://www.princess.com/learn/onboard/gifts_services/Gifts&Services_final.pdf the last page is the order form. Fill out the order form and fax or email it back to Princess. It is safe and secure, as I have done this for myself.
laraja Posted November 15, 2010 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2010 When I have friends cruising, I usually send a bottle of champagne for sailaway by calling 1.800.PRINCESS. Check the Princess website for other gifts you can have sent to their stateroom. How nice to have friends like you!:)
cindep Posted November 16, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted November 16, 2010 Thanks everyone. I know HOW to send a gift. My question was whether Princess would accept the "gift" of wine versus their rejecting the shipboard credit since the passengers are UK residents and booked with Princess UK. What I was told by the Princess rep here in the States was I would have to contact Princess UK (involving an expensive call to the UK) and do the shipboard credit through them, and I'm assuming in UK pounds (which adds to the cost as the credit card company will charge a surcharge for foreign funds). I guess the only way to find out is to try calling Princess again tomorrow and see if someone else can help me.
Loonbeam Posted November 16, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2010 Part of the problem is Princess US might not have access to their booking to append the OBC to their account. A bottle of wine might be easier..
