Rare trfccruiser Posted November 19, 2010 #26 Share Posted November 19, 2010 I've never found the photographers to be too pushy and have understood when we've said no thanks. On the Oceana a few years ago we ordered a photograph of my daughter at the Kids COKEtail party, she left it on a table and it was gone.We went to order a new one and the photographer who we had seen taking photos saw how upset my young daughter was and printed off a new copy there and then free of charge AND gave her a disposable camera. He definitely went the extra mile...
BORDER REIVER Posted November 20, 2010 #27 Share Posted November 20, 2010 We have never had any bother with photographers with P & O. Sometimes we've said "yes please" and other times we've said "not today thank you" and they've always respected our wishes. The snapper that really annoyed us was when we were boarding Queen Victoria last year. We had been up since 3.00am and endured an 8 hr coach trip and were feeling very grim, scruffy and tired. As we were heading to the boarding gates, we were stopped by someone while the couple in front had their photos taken, then ushered (more like pushed) forward into position for our turn, our protests fell on deaf ears and the photos we saw later really showed how we felt about it. CRUMB Posted November 21, 2010 #28 Share Posted November 21, 2010 We managed to get away with just 2 official photos being took during our 2 weeks which I was happy with. In terms of bad passengers we heard the following 'stories' on our cruise. One man was removed for throwing a lounger off the side of the ship during an argument over sunbeds. One mana was left at the first port for being to drunk to return onboard. One family were removed for cutting out one of the paintings from the art gallery and stealing it! Somerset Cruiser Posted November 21, 2010 #29 Share Posted November 21, 2010 We often have our photo taken on quayside, but by photographers from ships other than the one we are on. We smile say thank you and see you later. Sad I know but it makes us laugh.
u2cruiser Posted November 21, 2010 #30 Share Posted November 21, 2010 On our first P&O cruise last month, we met some of the nicest people. The camaraderie between crew (including photographers) and passengers was second to none. We've never experienced this on American cruise lines. The photographers were polite, friendly and did take a polite no for an answer. Most of the time passengers were only too pleased to pose  The only rude person we encountered was an older, well to do man telling a waiter off for opening his beer can before bringing it to his table. We spoke to lots of complainers too, mostly about P&O standards going down or Butlins at sea. There were lots of rumours about people being thrown off the ship, but we honestly didn't see one incident in 15 days. It was a fantastic cruise and we will certainly be sailing with P&O again. :)
