newmomtexas Posted November 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Hi all, Thank you all for all the help in the past few days. I've learned a lot from this site and just booked our first cruise with Esctasy. We'll go with our 3.5 years old and grandparents. Any suggestions on anything will be appreciated!!! Thank you! canuck eh? Posted November 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Do not overpack! Every cruise I take less and less now. I bring one pair of black pants and different tops for dinner. Wait a few days to buy photos - there are always some you like better than the ones already bought and the price adds up quickly. Have fun every minute of everyday - it goes by way too fast. Oh ya, start saving for the next cruise now. Trust me on that one. Have a great time!
newmomtexas Posted November 17, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Wait a few days to buy photos - there are always some you like better than the ones already bought and the price adds up quickly. Will a photographer be always "following" us taking pictures? Is there a place to display all the pictures? Thank you!
newmomtexas Posted November 17, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Do not overpack! Every cruise I take less and less now. I bring one pair of black pants and different tops for dinner. What is the average temperature inside the ship? And what is the average temperature outside at the end of February? Thanks!
jandjfun Posted November 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2010 My advice to you is buy insurance. Bring a flashlight, extra batteries, water and protein bars.
canuck eh? Posted November 17, 2010 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2010 The photographers will be scattered around the ship with different backgrounds for photos. They will be in the dining room one or two nights and when you get off the ship at your ports of call. Also before you get on the ship for the first time there will be a place set up. We usually get that picture because it's always pretty good. The temp. on the ship is usually OK but sometimes it's cool at night in the lounge where the nightly shows are so bring a light sweater or wrap. The temp. outside will hopefully be hot and sunny for you.
Rare Tapi Posted November 17, 2010 #7 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Hi all, Thank you all for all the help in the past few days. I've learned a lot from this site and just booked our first cruise with Esctasy. We'll go with our 3.5 years old and grandparents. Any suggestions on anything will be appreciated!!! Thank you! Pack LIGHT! We're also traveling with a little one and, knowing that cabin space is limited, we're just bringing the essentials. If you don't think you need it, you probably wont! Have a great cruise!
PeytsMom Posted November 17, 2010 #8 Share Posted November 17, 2010 Buy a small over-the-shoulder travel bag. The one I use is about six inches wide, but it has a place for my cell phone and camera and loose coins. It also has a huge expandable inside. Some essentials I pack are a small tube of antibacterial gel, four individually wrapped hand wipes, travel tube of ibuprofen, band aids, credit card, sea pass, sample size of sunscreen, and chapstick. newmomtexas Posted November 17, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted November 17, 2010 All great suggestions! Thank you all! Is the security check similar to the airport security check? Can I pack hair spray in my check-in luggage? Do I need to pack some bottle water or soda? Is there 2 oz liquid limitation for the carry-ons?
