Really enjoyed the show did a good job showcasing the Allure.

I am watching as I type. It started here (FL east coast) at 11 am. I'm also taping (DVR) just in case it's worth watching again (or in case I could not watch while it was showing)

I'll be on board Jan 30, so this is super exciting to me!:D:D:D

They had a few unusual limitations most shows don't have. The ship is empty! The only gusts were the ones brought on to populate the aquatheater. That means that if they were showing wide shots of areas of the ship it would look dead, not the kind of image RCCL wants to portray of a fun vacation. They also have a movie filming onboard which means that all movements have to be coordinated to not interfere with the filming. This is most likely why they couldn't move everyone from the Boardwalk to somewhere else like the Royal Promenade in the middle and back at the end. Instead they used pre-shot montage videos. I thought they did a nice job of showing off all the fun things to do and shows onboard in a way that is appealing to the 4th hours target demographic of middle aged women. Showing a random person doing the FlowRider would probably not have sold as well to the demographic as KLG and Hoda actually going out and doing the things that they would be interested in doing and seeing. The 4th hour has grown in popularity through trying to develop a friendship bond with the audience members and I think they did a good job of trying to get those friends to run out book the Allure.

Since the ship has not even sailed a PI yet, what better way to show it off than when it is empty.

They certainly couldn't send a TV crew on a cruise with pax and then try to take pictures of different category cabins, the Specialty Restaurants, the MDR........that would be an invasion of their privacy.

Wished they would have shown more of the ship, staterooms, MDR, Specialty Restaurants. Really wasn't interested in what type of bathing suit to wear or their cruise ship fantasies, plus I'm not one of Kathie Lee's biggest fans.

Patti, I totally agree with you! I was a little disappointed. I wanted to see more of the restaurants, Central Park, Promenade, and more of the ship in general. I don't watch the today show (some times a little bit in the early hours, but very seldom) I din't care much for the interaction between the two hosts, and like you I could have done without the bathing suits.

Now I'll be dreaming about a visit from the upgrade fairy (those loft suites sound fantastic!)

Unfortunately we got it in the 5th hour (11AM) here in Ohio and friends of ours that live in Florida got to see it in the 6th hour (12 noon). Guess that blows the target demographic of middle aged women right out the window.;)

My travel agency had the sole rights to provide a ship inspection for over 400 people. Anyway, we were limited to certain area because of the filming of a Tom Cruise movie called Jack and Jill, we did not get to see Tom but got to see some movie extras. They were just setting up the Today show, we did get to see some of the divers in the Aqua Theater perform, and tour the best rooms, one a 1600 square foot two story place with wrap around balcony over looking the Aqua Theater, it also had a hot tub. It only rents for $16,000 a week, but sorry it is booked solid for the next year, and were taken in to a couple of other suites and did not get to see balcony cabins designed for us normal people. They do have a new Mexican Restaurant for extra $ and not having been the Oasis, I cannot come pare the two ships. All I know it is big, big, bigger than I first thought, it would take you IMHO a week just to figure which venue was for you, and then another week to enjoy the luxuries LOL. One thing for sure, just walking to and from venues, would walk the food calories off you. I do not know if the Oasis has sit or not but there are computer screens, like GPS's and they super friendly and will tell you how to get to the venue you want to go to. The only potentially negative thing, is that Wind Jammer seemed smaller and crowded, the tables were very close together that just getting up from the table you bumped into the chairs behind you.

There were many people staying on the boat from construction people etc so it was full of many different types and the Local Fire and Rescue were also getting acquainted with the ship.

I got the impression from my wife she want to do a Oasis class ship cruise but that will have to wait until next summer or Fall

I thought it was an Adam Sandler and Katie Holmes movie?? They were saying that there were "Suri Sightings" on the ship.

I thought it was pretty good...but i have to say all this allure of the seas coverage on tv today, between today show, oprah and the local news, is making me want to switch my upcoming cruise from oasis to allure of the seas...i thought they were carbon copies...but appartenly not...=(

There was the usual misinformation or, at least, conflicting information.

We were told (in the confirmation letter) to be onboard by 7am. We weren't escorted onboard until 7:15, and that was the first group.

We were told (in the letter) that Cafe Promenade would be open. It was, but we were quickly hustled out. Maybe for the movie people? Anyway, we were then told that continental breakfast was available on the Boardwalk. But, since we already had grabbed cups of coffee and pastries, we just went upstairs and took our seats. Besides, even though there were some short lines at some of the food venues, it wasn't obvious what was available. We later saw people with what looked like Egg McMuffins and some type of panini. Actually, there was what seemed like a constant parade of food in front of us as people milled about. If you feed them, they will come?

The letter said to be seated by 7:45 but that was not the case. We really had to be seated shortly before 10 and the aisles had to be cleared periodically to make way for earlier rehearsal parades. CD Ken Rush exercised his cheer leading skills to get the audience to applaud and stand at the appropriate times.

Being in the audience, the show was somewhat disappointing. The first segment had the hosts (hostesses) with their back to the audience and we could neither see nor hear what was happening. They didn't even use the tv monitors for any kind of a live feed until about 10:30. We could see some of the pre-taped segments, and hear but a part of them. The last part, however, the divers, was rehearsed for quite awhile right in front of us.

Saw Adam Goldstein and Richard Fain and spent a few minutes talking with Adam.

Despite the limitations of being in the audience, you could still sense the excitemtent and the seemingly universal delight in the ship itself.

After the show, we could walk around in almost all public areas (the main exception was the solarium where there was a set for the Jack and Jill movie) but cabins were not open. I wanted to see the inside of the Concierge Lounge, but was denied access. The library, next door to the CL, was closed for a meeting.

Lunch was available at Windjammer, Cafe Promenade, and Boardwalk Cafe - we opted for the WJ knowing it is a larger venue and probably less congested.

All-in-all, it was a good day, even if it did start at a quarter-to-dawn. You could feel the excitement, both in the crew and the guests, and, I guess, that's what it's all about.

I will probably take the Allure or Oasis when the prices come more inline with the other ships. I think, however, I made a mistake telling my step-family to record the show, because they will want to try Oasis class. We'll talk, kids!:rolleyes:
