Quest on Carnival??

I was reading a couple threads here tonight and both of them mentioned the Quest game on Carnival. When did that start:confused:? Is it on all the ships?? And is it like on RCCL where it is like a scavenger hunt from things the teams have brought with them? One member runs the item down to the host and proves they have that item?

I hope so, cuz it is a blast!

I wondered the same thing as we've sailed RCI many times and participated in the Quest but recently they did it on Carnival and I think it is their "In the Bag" game renamed since they said bring a bag full of stuff from your stateroom. Less nudity !

They had it on the Triumph is Sept. I was so excited to go watch it! Well, only about 20 people showed up. It is the same as RCC, but not near as fun with only a few people. Hopefully it will get more popular. I don't think people on the ship had a clue what it was about. I think our next cruise might be the Spirit, and I hope it's be played there.

OP, thank you for asking this question. I had my first experience with this game on an RCCL ship over the Labor Day weekend and it was truly hilarious...should be interesting to see how this plays out with Carnival!

I had it on my Splendor cruise back in May, and it was a blast. I think there was a total of 20 teams and it got pretty insane. It was called the Adult Quest Game so no kiddies and they did it at midnight. The best part was my 60 year old friend dressed in heels, lip stick and a bra doing a congo line with other males dressed the same.:D

They had it on the Pride in May. One of the funniest things I've ever done - I was crying I was laughing so hard. My DH is one of those who isn't afraid to get up there and embarass himself so needless to say he was in on a lot of the action.

...but dial the raunchiness up to 10! We were on Inspiration 11/6 and it was our first Carnival Quest. We had done several RCCL Quests, but Carnival's was definitely not for kids! We were surprised what people would do for a cheap bottle of champagne...

What is Quest?

Let me try to explain it. And remember, I have only played it on RCCL, so it could be different on Carnival.

First the audience comes in and sit down where ever they want. The host divides the room into sections. Each section is a team. Each team has 2 people to be the captians or runners. One guy and one girl. Each team also has a number card that the runners hold.

The host will ask for certain things. Someone on your team comes up with that item and it is quickly and I do mean quickly, given to the runner of your team. They run the item to the host and shows it to him/her, along with the teams number. The number gets read off outloud to someone writing them down. It's important to be the first and faster to get your number read, so the host is bombarded with all the numbers at once!

The game continues until the last items are called. Usually the game ends up with a guy being dressed like a girl parading around for all to see.

Things that might get asked for varies greatly, but false teeth, the biggest bra in the room, a thong, etc. might be some of them. Experienced players will bring bags of loot that could get asked for.

From what I read, it sounds like carnival plays it in already formed teams. But I could be wrong.

When we did it, the teams weren't already formed, they just had us form teams with whoever was seated nearby between four and maybe eight? I can't remember exactly but they did require at least one girl and one guy on each team. I thought most of the challenges were fairly tame. Nothing really worse than guys running up wearing a bra and high heels over their clothes or the first guy to run up wearing lipstick and kiss another guys bald head - that type stuff. some of it wasn't even adult - stuff like first person up with at least two different colored s&s cards or first girl onstage with a tattoo.

We just sailed CCL Conquest the wk of 11/7 out of Galveston and did not see this on the agenda for the week. Too bad, b/c I LOVE this game!

True story from 1998. We were sailing CCL Sensation and playing this game. This was our honeymoon cruise. We took my large toiletry "catch all" bag w/ us to the game b/c it had all kinds of items that just might be asked for. The last item requested in the game was a condom. My husband grabs what he thinks is one condom from the toiletry bag and is the first person running up the stage with it waving in the air above his head. What he didn't realize was the entire box were connected and had not been separated at the perforations. He's actually running down the aisle and up on stage with a 12 pk "flag" of condoms trailing behind him! He gets to the stage, the CD asked his name, where's he's from and are we sailing for any particular reason. My husband explains we are on our honeymoon cruise and the CD says well then why do you have so many of these left after already sailing 5 days! Thought my husband was going to melt in to the floor!

We had Quest on Legend in August. We had to form our teams ourselves so our team was just DH and I. We were not prepared for the game because we stumbled on it in search of some late night entertainment. Neither the less we had fun and did pretty good. The sad part was that somewhere in the middle of the game I realized that we had 5 to 10 years on most of contestants. People our age were observing - not playing. But what can I say. I am a kid trapped in the middle age woman's body.

We participated in the "The Carnival Quest" on our last cruise on the Inspiration. It was held at midnight in the same showroom where the comedy shows were held. They asked people to team up in groups of 6-8, so we paired with two of our MDR tablemates and another group of 4. Needless to say we got to know each other quickly!

Some of the things they asked for were a condom on a man's head (we won this one but only after we broke several condoms!), a pair of "warm" undergarments (meaning someone had to be wearing them and take them off), a male and a female from each team to completely swap outfits, piercings "below the neck but above the knee" (only one girl went up to the stage for this... and basically pulled her boob out for many to see), two girls kissing with tongue, two guys kissing on the lips, plastic surgery scars and many other raunchy things. The first three people to run up to the hosts with their completed item for each category scored points.

At the end the points were tallied and our team came in 2nd! First place received 3 bottles of champagne, 2nd place received 2 bottles and 3rd place received 1 bottle. We brought ours to the MDR the next night to share with the rest of our tablemates and tried to describe what we did (or refused to do) to score the loot.

Of course, every time we ran into our teammates on the ship all we could do was laugh since we'd all see each other half naked. :o

On a previous cruise on the Imagination we participated in Carnival's "What's in the Bag" which is way different than "The Carnival Quest". Basically anyone that wanted to participate in the bag game went up on stage in the main showroom (it was in the middle of the day on a sea day). We were split into two teams and everyone emptied out the contents of their bags, purses, pockets, etc out onto the floor in front of them. The team to send a member running to the middle with the item scored a point. Most things were tame - foreign currency, do not disturb sign, man wearing lipstick, etc. The most risque thing they asked for was a man wearing a bra that woman had to take off her body. Our team won and we all received Carnival medals.

I had experienced the Quest game other times on RCI ships. In October, 2012, we attended the Carnival Pride version of Quest. It was very similar to the RCI version, even using the same name. The assistant CD and his very young female assistant from the cruise staff (this was her first assignment) were doing a great job. For one of the quests, he asked for each team to bring up a "dirty picture." I was surprised how many groups were quickly able to find them on their Smart Phones. However, the person who got there first was more creative. He thrust his phone down the front of his pants and fired away. When the asst. CD saw the picture, he freaked with laughter. His assistant blushed. When he was able to contain himself, he asked for that contestant's wife to stand up. He told her she was a lucky woman!

Omg I am in shock I thought it was a family cruise line ;).

What next comedians saying the F word?

Stories are a riot!! Always missed it on RCL since I like to donate to the casino.
