billrco90278 Posted November 27, 2010 #1 Share Posted November 27, 2010 Has anybody out there gone on the Calabaza Snorkel Lunch since the hurricane? Their boat was damaged and I am interested in hearing how it was with the smaller, rented boat. Would you have noticed any difference without it being pointed out? Did it meet your expectations? shakes the clown Posted November 29, 2010 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2010 Interested to know as well since I'm booked with them for December 14.
billrco90278 Posted November 29, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted November 29, 2010 We are alos booked with Calabaza on December 14th too. What is your ship? I did communicate with Calabaza and Gina told me the rental boat length is 38 feet in comparison to their own boat's 43 feet. Gina said everything else about the tour will be the same. We are sticking with Calabaza. Maybe it will be tighter, but I likely would not have noticed the difference on my own.
jrchief21 Posted November 30, 2010 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2010 We are booked as well with them on Dec 14th. I wouldn't worry about it not being Calabaza's own boat. I have seen others on different threads write about it and they said there isn't any real noticeable difference and the experience lived up to their reputation. njmom23grls Posted November 30, 2010 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2010 My mom and I just returned from a RCCL cruise and sailed/snorkeled with Calabaza on 11/23/10. Everything was as I expected it be; WONDERFUL :) Please don't worry - the boat is a little smaller but we spent so much time snorkeling and swimming and lounging on deck that it really was not noticeable. Lunch was terrific and as has been previously written about - Gina and the crew were fantastic. You will have a great time!
