Baths and/or JVD

Sadly, Tortola Charters is unavailable the day we'll be in Tortola. So, I'm trying to plan out something on my own and need some advice from veterans.

 

It looks simple enough to get Speedy's to and fro' the Baths. What really attracted me about Tortola Charters was "interesting snorkel spots around the sunken boulders that include some challenging swim through tunnels". Are the swim through tunnels something we could find/do on our own or would it be a bad idea? Would we need snorkel gear?

 

Because our boat leaves at 5p, we'd be back in Tortola at 2:00p. Would that leave us enough time for JVD... particularly the Soggy Dollar? How would I go about getting there?
