2012 Itineraries

From past experiences usually in the spring. Cruise lines think in terms of a year starting in May after their ships reposition for their summer itineraries, not in January. The summer season is the most profitable quarter for the cruise lines and they therefore hold their cards close to their vests. Carnival usually posts their next summer's itineraries in March, and by the end of April most of the other lines follow suit. It seems every year in May there are two years of itineraries posted, and in March there is barely one year of itineraries posted...

While the cruise lines wish for passengers to book early, they really don't want to reveal fares too soon, especially for the summer season... Not many businesses reveal prices two years in advance like the cruise lines in the travel industry...
