Parking in New Orleans

I dont know when you first learned of this garage, but its been $12 a day for at least a year and a half...you would have had to book it a very very long time ago or get the manager to give you a special rate like the person above said they got from the manager.

Actually, this fall was the first I researched New Orleans, and it was $10 on the website then. And earlier this year on other threads people were still confirming the rate to be $10 without any hoops. It doesn't really matter when it changed, it's still a bummer. Guess I was spoiled by parking rates in Galveston! :D

It was $10 per day in January of this year.

Thanks for the advice guys. It's my first day here and I already learned something. I went ahead and booked for our week at Fulton. I've been to New Orleans many times, and parking was always a chore. I'll love the shuttle. And it's something I might not have thought about until we got there.

Does anyone have any good/cheaper alternatives to parking in the "Port Terminal"? We're fine paying that but if there's a simple alternative that doesn't involve $17/day that would be nice. Thanks!

Hampton Inn right by the Convention Center has king rooms and overnight parking as part of their "cruise package" for $129+ for the night pre-cruise, and they will garage your vehicle for $10 per day while you cruise. They even have free shuttle to and from the dock. :D
