Cove Balcony ??

Basically a though the hull balcony on deck 2. Currently only on Carnival Dream and soon to be on Carnival Magic.

It's a balcony cabin built IN THE HULL of the ship:

As opposed to a normal balcony cabin that has a railing with a Plexiglas front the hull of the ship forms the protection in a Cove.

The Dream class ships have them, as does the Queen Mary II, and actually go back a ways. Take a look at the suites on a Fantasy Class ship... same concept:

The critical difference is location... on a Dream class ship the cabins are on the Main Deck... the second deck above the water line allowing for some absolutely dramatic views of the sea...

Hello just wanted to chime in we were on the dream in june 2010 and had cabin number 2322 and its a cove balcony,, totally loved it.. this was our first cruise and we were not sure what to expect but i have to say it truely was the best.. we were able to watch them bring in the ship, leaving was nice also watching the ship pull away.. all in all would highly recommend getting one.. we are sailing on the inspiration in feb and unfortuatly they dont have that but we are ok with that. any other questions dont hesitate to ask... enjoy..
