Sargent_Schultz Posted December 13, 2010 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Gambling on land is, too. Harrah's Casino is just a few blocks from the cruise port, if you can't wait. Lots of video poker all over, too. Everything on the ship opens shortly after setting sail and hours before the mouth of the Mississippi. Anyway, most people like to look at the city and surroundings at sail away for at least a bit.
truchattycathy Posted December 13, 2010 #6 Share Posted December 13, 2010 In Oct., the casino was open before we were done with our meet and greet right after muster. Maybe an hour and a half after we sailed. Long before we got down the Mississippi.
flygirlb737 Posted December 13, 2010 Author #7 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Thanks guys, I had a friend who worked there a few years ago and said it didn't open until the next day due to the 'international water' rule so I just wanted to check what the current rules are. Thanks to my CC buddies, you're all better than GOOGLE!!!!!!
Sargent_Schultz Posted December 13, 2010 #8 Share Posted December 13, 2010 Thanks guys, I had a friend who worked there a few years ago and said it didn't open until the next day due to the 'international water' rule so I just wanted to check what the current rules are. Thanks to my CC buddies, you're all better than GOOGLE!!!!!! I have cruised out of New Orleans for years on several cruise lines and my recollection is that there are no restrictions on the casino once that they wait until international waters.
