Sandysandy Posted December 14, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I called NCL and they told me I could substitute a passenger up to 24 hours at no charge. However, all I can find in writing on ncl.com is: Name substitutions and departure date changes for cruise, land and other add-ons are considered cancellations and are subject to cancellation fees. I have to make final payment on a cruise tomorrow and am concerned I can't get a required visa in time for someone in our group. Can anyone confirm we can switch out passengers? jlacy1987 Posted December 14, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 14, 2010 I'm of no help, but could you call NCL back and have them send you a confirmation email regarding what they told you about substitutions? That way, if they try to charge you at a later date, you can provide confirmation.
garycarla Posted December 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 14, 2010 No legal representation here, but... The genera word, is you can sub the 2nd passenger with no problem. You might have a small fee, but you can do it.
familyof4cruising Posted December 14, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2010 A few years ago the fee was $50 to change names. You can change names after final payment ... it is allowed for a small fee.

This is what I was told when I thought I'd have to change someone....about a month ago or so, give or take.

We made our final payment in October and I was able to change a passenger earlier this week with no charge.
more cruises Posted December 14, 2010 #7 Share Posted December 14, 2010 It depends on the rate you booked. Some special sales do not allow name changes - be sure you didn't book one of those. And then have them send you an email as someone else suggested. It's amazing how often "policy" changes from one agent to another. Always get the agent's name in case you ever need to follow up.
