Just logged into the webcams for the Royal Palms and noticed they have a new pool.

 

Has anyone visited recently with any pros and cons to share? We went there two years ago and it seems a lot has changed!

I would like to know as well. Would like to know if they charge an entrance fee for using the premises. It does look very nice from the pictures I saw. It has been about 5 or 6 years since we have been there.

On their website they say there is no charge for the pool or cabanas but you must make a minimum food purchase. But, they don't say what the minimum charge is. You can reserve cabanas via e-mail now.

We were there January 4, 2011. We have been there quite a few times over the past 7 years. I have to admit, we were very disappointed.

 

The pool is beautiful. No one was swimming in it. There is a $10 minimum food purchase per person.

 

The beach is no longer as beautiful as it once was. Between the beach and the sitting area of the restaurant is now covered with beach chairs. 100's of them! No more wide open white sand for the kids to play in while we relax on towels.

 

We will find another beach front to visit on our next trip to the Caymans. Disappointing for us as we loved their food.

 

It is worth extra $ to go to Rum Point by boat...
