bakerintn Posted December 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2010 You might want to check the homeports discussion section. link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=495 Parking at the pier is easy and $14 per day. There are hotels that give you free parking for a week with one night's stay...taxi to the port about $25 or less from most nearby hotels. United airport parking is advertising $12 per day http://www.unitedairportparking.com/ I have not seen reports of other ideas except parking at the commuter rail station and taking a taxi. sassy~one Posted December 18, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted December 18, 2010 Thank you so much. The cost seems like a lot. debbie
Orlandocruiser Posted December 18, 2010 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2010 If you park at the port you can drop your luggage off at the terminal and then swing around to the garage. You pay as you enter and they give you a little token that is encoded with your payment that you leave in the car and deposit at the gate when you take your car out of the garage. You then need to walk across the street to the terminal. We had no trouble parking near the elevator in the garage (Got there around 10:45) and when we left (a little after 8am) the garage didn't seem that full. We chose to pull our luggage across the street when we left the ship but you could pull around an pick it up at the terminal if you wish. All very easy - we left our cabin at 8am and were home (Orlando) by 9:35.:) A much better parking experience than Ft Lauderdale! Hope this helps.
