ManitobanNew2Cruising Posted December 22, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2010 We'd like to just sit on the beach & have a few cold beers. Can we buy a 6 pack somewhere near Royal Palm & just drink those? Or do we need to purchase our liquor from the nearby resort? Resort prices are always so high... thanks! TurtleTagger Posted December 22, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 22, 2010 Plenty of options in George Town or on the way to Royal Palms to pick up some cold ones. http://s2.caymanislandsyp.com/Cayman-Islands/Liquor-Retail Not sure how tolerant Royal Palms is if you rent chairs and bring your own food &/or beverages, so hopefully someone else can advise. Royal Palms is public free beach you can bring anything you want as long as it's legal.

As they have a liquor license I do not think they can or will permit you to bring outside alcoholic beverages onto their premises. The only portion of the beach that is public is the narrow portion of beach between the water and the point that gets wet at high tide on a typical day. The public area is not much sand and does not include the restaurant, bar, pool, restrooms, parking lot, etc...
