p3sgirl Posted December 23, 2010 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2010 We will be traveling with our 8 month old son in 18 days on Majesty of the Seas. Royal Caribbean only offers babysitting to babies 12 months and up. In your experience, do they really check the child's age? Do you know why they only do 12 months and up but allow babies as young as 6 months on the ship? I'm just curious. Right now there will be three adults and we just plan to take turns watching him so that we can go to the casino or have a late night drink. beachchick Posted December 23, 2010 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2010 Yes, they check ages. They'll have his age on the passenger manifest, so there's no getting around it. Most likely reason for the 1 year age minimum is liability insurance, but there are likely other reasons too. beachchick
jerin Posted December 23, 2010 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2010 Keep the plan to rotate through. They checked ages of all children in our party multiple times (from getting muster bracelets to signing in to Adventure Ocean and when I even inquired about in-cabin sitting that we didn't use). We had 5 children 16 mo to 12 years old last week.
