Belize snorkeling from the beach

Seeking recommendations for locations (and tour operators) for snorkeling from a beach in Belize, in March. We have one family member who just couldn't handle snorkeling off a boat in deep water last year! Many thanks.

we were going to do same thing after am tours,,,but beaches didnt look clean or inviting ....water brown,lots of trash.,little beach area per se,,,at least near pier....didnt feel safe just taking local tour,,sorry....hubby had snorkled in Cozumel,,and much better location.....we did ziplining and airboat in am....just a hint.....;)
