When should I book?

Hello, my family of 4 (2 40 somethings and two teens) is so excited to be going on our first cruise in March. We will be on the Monarch of the Seas. I am thinking that if we like that cruise, we will book a second cruise for July (hopefully on the Freedom). Should I book now, or will there be some benefit to waiting to book while we are onboard in March? Is there a discount or reduced deposit? Also, do you think there will still be a good choice of staterooms if we wait. We are new to this, so any advice is really appreciated.

Booking on board usually means some OBC and reduced deposits and an upgrade at times. That said, if you are booking in March for July, your final payment will be due almost as soon as you book. Oh, you also get a better choice of cabins by booking early.
