It was very orderly when we were on in Nov. They provide luggage tags and a place to wait. If you are taking off your own luggage then you leave first. I believe that was at 7:30 am when they began calling for self assist.

They do a very good job with getting your luggage out to pick up fast also if you change your mind. If you need to be off first they can do that right after self assist. And you would not have to drag the luggage. If you do that I would suggest something colorful on your luggage to be able to pick it out fast in the sea of luggages. The separate it by color and then call each color in order.
