CarRex Posted January 3, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Is the Casinos at Sea program connected in any way to points earned at Harrah's?
chrisaf Posted January 3, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Yes - Harrahs players can receive a discount off of their cruise price based on what level they are at Harrahs (gold, platinum, diamond, seven stars).
EileenN Posted January 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2011 However, if you call CAS to book a cabin, they will only refer to your CAS play. If you ask about being considered for a discount for your Harrah's play, they will refer you to another telephone number to book thru Harrah's. They will not combine the play credits to book a cabin. I tried that last week. It is one or the other.
garycarla Posted January 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Is the Casinos at Sea program connected in any way to points earned at Harrah's? Not directly. The accounts are not mixed at all. Nor are your levels (diamond, etc) The only connection that I am aware of is that you can get a discount based on your Harrahs level. Nothing more. (we are both Diamond)

patseacruiser Posted January 3, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Wish they were linked to the Taj. They'd give me a permanent cabin.
RobM88 Posted January 4, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2011 I called today as my final payment was due for a March cruise, and had booked it under Harrah's previously (last May). Now they are telling me that as of 1/1/11, the Harrah's discounts are no longer being offered? At one time they said Platinum would now be 10% off (instead of 20) and then the next time, they said the discount would be discontinued. Even more confusing was that I was asking about the overall price because the price now on their main website was right at the same price as I was quoted originally, so I was hoping to get more of a discount. They somehow got about $48 off the price, but the promo codes changed and I can't get anyone to answer the phone now. Very confusing!
Coll101 Posted January 4, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 4, 2011 I'm confused as well...we DID get 20% off for being Diamond...(booked in July for the epic this Saturday!!)...I can't find anything on the Harrahs website & it still is saying 5% gold, 10% plat and 20% diamaon, 30% seven stars....weird:confused::confused:

brady19 Posted January 4, 2011 #10 Share Posted January 4, 2011 I came across this on the NCL site yesterday. I am a TR member but I already booked and made my final payment. Am I still entitled to any discounts?
OHippieChick Posted January 4, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 4, 2011 You have to book your cruise through Casinos at Sea to receive the discount. We have gotten a very generous discount with them based on our Total Rewards play. After our first NCL cruise, they even comped our next! LOVE Casinos at Sea!!! :D

LOVE Casinos at Sea!!! :D To clarify, I am thinking you got the "discount" based on your level, which is similar to your play, but specifically is tied to your level (Gold, Diamond, etc) And, yes, once you sail, you are now in the CAS system and will get even better discounts or free cabins, all based on your play. BeeeJay Posted January 4, 2011 #13 Share Posted January 4, 2011 Not to mention the free drinks and surprise snacks! <embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid781.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fyy93%2FBeeeeJay%2FNov10%2F083.mp4">
OHippieChick Posted January 5, 2011 #14 Share Posted January 5, 2011 No, to clarify, the "discount" was based on our play with Total Rewards. The first cruise we booked through Casinos at Sea,we received a much bigger discount than the percentage normally given to diamond members. They checked with our casino host before quoting us a price. Now we are preparing for our 3rd cruise with Casinos at Sea!

OK apparently the promotions ARE continuing in terms of the Harrah's (now Caesars) Total Rewards program... however the booking system codes are not functioning correctly due to some programming issues related to the 2011 calendar. So hopefully everything will be straightened out very soon! I was on the phone with NCL several times to get the basics of this straightened out, and now I am waiting to get someone to correct my fare, but otherwise it's OK. sjbdtz Posted January 5, 2011 #16 Share Posted January 5, 2011 Harrah's owns Caesars. And Paris, and Rio, and Harrah's and a few others. Harrah's was founded in Laughlin, NV in 1937 by Mr. Harrah. Now, Appollo owns Harrah's. Harrah's have VERY RECENTLY changed their comp program (we played for about 3 hours at Tunica and got $75 in meal credit without touching our Bonus Reward points) Appollo also owns 50% of NCL. NCL's Casino is called Casinos At Sea (CAS). CAS can offer discounted up to comped cabins, with other VIP status, etc. based on play FROM YOUR LAST CRUISE.....ONLY! Harrah's SEPARATELY offers 5, 10, 20 & 30% discounts based on Tier (earned over the course of the preceeding year). You can't combine them. CAS is functionally a travel agency selling NCL cruises, and Harrah's discounts are done through their own dedicated agents. They're not the same thing, and they still exist as of this morning when we checked out of Caesars Windsor.... .
